Now, I have to honest, I prefer to spend more money and stay at a nicer hotel, but I had to adjust based on availability. Take that into consideration as you read my review, because everyone has different priorities. Issue #1. When we arrived, the front desk attendant barely said hi, much less engaged in any sort of positive customer service. #2. We took the kids to the pool, and the chemicals were so overdone or done wrong that your eyes burned when you walk on the pool room. My kids left coughing so hard, they were crying. #3. In the pool room, there seems to be a little room with a recliner with a one way mirror to the pool. Why would that be necessary? Definitely creepy. #4. No elevator, now I get it, not every place does, but I don't have to like hauling a full size suitcase up a full flight of stairs. AND #5. Our air conditioner was horrible. We had it on high anf as cool as possible and it did nothing more than a ceiling fan.
in my opinion, no super 8 should be this expensive. however, if you are going to charge this much for a room i would expect more than 2 kleenexes in the box, a remote control that works for the tv, towels that are thicker than a paper towel and the fridge/freezer to already be plugged in and ready for the guests. mine was unplugged, warm and stunk of old food. the beds were nothing special and the blanket/sheets were thin. the front desk guy, Cole, was nice, patient and helpful, which is why i gave 3 stars and not 2. i, also, have a random $4.90 charge that showed up on my account and i am still trying to figure out. i typically travel alone, i felt safe here and the ice machine was in an open area, easy access. Update* I contacted the hotel about the random charge and they reimbursed me. The lady on the phone was very friendly, even tho she sounded busy.
Pros: the staff were nice, the place was clean, and it was reasonably priced. Cons: the entrance wasn't the easiest to find in the dark, and the breakfast started at 6 (we had to leave at 5:45). We arrived late and left early so we didn't get to experience a lot of it but it was a pleasant stay.
Arrived on a busy night and they only had smoking rooms (obviously not their fault but may explain the condition of the room) Room was fine but a bit worn for the asking price. AC unit was ancient and barely function despite all the sound it creates. Box springs were ripped, wallpaper was loose, etc. That said, beds were comfortable enough and staff was friendly despite being overwhelmed.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Breakfast was good, wish it had sausage or bacon to go with the waffles. Would stay again.
